Vocational Consultant

Regional Manager and Vocational Consultant since April, 1986. Provides vocational rehabilitation services including: Eligibility Evaluations, return the worker to regular or modified employment with the employer-at-injury. Evaluates the worker’s vocational needs and assesses transferable skills, abilities, and aptitudes. Prepares vocational rehabilitation plans for direct placement or training assistance. Labor Standards Investigator from February, 1973 through August, 1976. Responsibilities included enforcement of New York State labor laws relating to minimum wage, child labor, wage and wage supplement claims, injured worker claims, farm labor , and migrant farm labor. Duties included determining the validity of complaints concerning above laws, interviewing employers and employees, examining payroll records, computing minimum wage underpayments from payroll records, issuance of violation notices, preparing evidence for hearing and prosecution, and testifying as an expert witness at hearings. Provided Job Development for clients. Conducted Labor Market Surveys and employment counseling sessions. Familiar with medical, vocational, psychological, and legal reports. Responsible for monthly reports and case management.
